APPLICATION TO HOST InCoB Conferences
(version 1.1)
General Information
Each year, the Executive Committee (ExCo) of the International Conference
on Bioinformatics (InCoB) will issue a call for proposal to host
subsequent InCoB meetings.
All interested organisations are requested to fill up the following
application form and send it to the Steering Committee secretariat,
Dr Tan Tin Wee, Secretariat of APBioNet.
The winning bidder for the organisation of the InCoB meeting will
be awarded by the InCoB Executive Committee (ExCo) and notified accordingly
as soon as the decision is made.
The Terms and Conditions of the award are as follows. The winning bidder shall:
- Form a Local Organising Committee is to
carry out and execute the organisation of the symposium in
accordance to the bid submission documents, and/or report to
the ExCo regularly (at least once a month) prior
to the symposium, and produce a final report within one month
of the conduct of the symposium.
- Liaise with the Scientific Programme Committee on the
invited scientific speakers and the selected papers for
acceptance.
- Seek the approval of the ExCo on other
invited speakers at the Symposium (e.g. VIP, Guest of Honour etc).
- Seek approval of the ExCo on the proposed
registration fees and other charges.
- Seek sponsorship for the InCoB to make sure that the
meeting is totally self-financing.
- Keep the ExCo informed about any commercial
deals and arrangements.
- in the event there be a profit, arrange for 10-20% of the profit
(subject to negotiation with the ExCo)
be payable to the ExCo for provision of future
InCoB Travel Fellowships and other exigencies.
- Provide full accounts of the meeting to the ExCo
for record purposes.
- Fully underwrite any losses arising from the InCoB
and absolve the Scientific Programme Committee or the ExCo
from any liaibility, and take the necessary steps
to indemnify both committees and their individual members from
any liaibility by any appropriate instrument,
- Manage the InCoB Website pointed to by http://www.apbionet.org/incob/,
and hand over the relevant contents of the last organised symposium
to the website authority held by or authorised by the InCoB ExCo
as soon as the meeting is over.
- agree to any other terms which the ExCo shall
add on from time to time subject to negotiation.
