IBM's IT solutions for Life Sciences - Speeding up Your Research
Shu Qi Zhao
Advisory I/T Specialist, IBM, P.R. China
With the technologies improving in "post-genomic era", massive amount of genome, transcriptome, and proteome data can be generated simultaneously and inexpensively, which provides effective approach for systematically profiling the complex biological network. Meanwhile, the large volume of data poses serious challenges for follow-up computer aided data analysis. If academic researcher and commercial company want to win on the rat race, one of the key factors is to utilize computational resource to decrease the research processes. In order to help make full use of resource and improve performance, IBM has proposed several IT solutions for Life Sciences on system bottleneck elimination and application code tuning. In a word, IBM would provide completely integrated IT solutions to help customers speed up the research.
