- Genomic Research Laboratory
The research activities focus on the application of genomic tools, such as high-throughput sequencing and genotyping technologies, to improve genetic backgrounds of economically important plants and animals. The lab also involves in the development of metagenomic studies for genetic diversity and the application in enzyme technology. - Starch Biosynthesis Laboratory
The starch biosynthesis laboratory was set up with the aim of achieving a complete understanding of the molecular regulation and biochemistry behind storage root development and starch biosynthesis in cassava. The knowledge thus acquired will eventually be applied to improvement schemes designed to develop new cassava varieties with desired properties. - Monoclonal Antibody Production Laboratory
Monoclonal Antibody Production Laboratory specializes in monoclonal antibodies production and immunoassay development for efficient detection of plant pathogens to be used in agriculture and seed inspection business. - Proteomics Laboratory
The researches focus on various fields of proteomics technology, including multi-protein complexes, membrane proteins, post-translational modifications and quantitative proteomics. - Protein-Ligand Engineering and Molecular Biology Laboratory
The main focus of the Protein-Ligand Engineering and Molecular Biology Research Program is medical biotechnology, with special emphasis on the rational discovery and development of drugs for tropical diseases, especially malaria and other protozoal diseases. - Microarray Laboratory
The microarray laboratory focuses on both fundamental science and translational research using microarray technology as a platform. Microarray technology allows high-throughput screening and analysis. The laboratory is equipped with high-throughput technology and facility to fabricate array chips in-house as well as applying them in various aspects of research and development. Two main research areas are of current focus: DNA microarray and antibody microarray.
