Full Paper Submission Guidelines for Special issue of Bioinformatics Advances

Journal Information

We invite full papers for review and presentation at the conference. Short-listed papers will be eligible for publication to the InCoB/ISCB-APAC Proceedings in Bioinformatics Advances (https://academic.oup.com/bioinformaticsadvances) (Oxford University Press).

At the outset, please read the General Information regarding InCoB/ISCB-APAC 2026 submissions, particularly the Language policy and Ethical Requirements.

Registration and APC Requirements

Accepted submissions will be provided an oral presentation opportunity at the conference. At least one author should register and attend the conference. Authors of accepted papers will be advised of the discounted article publication charge (APC) payable to OUP. Authors from all countries will be eligible for the same discounted APC for Malaysia (USD 1750) and no further discounts are available.

Submission Guidelines

Authors are invited to submit original research papers in the Bioinformatics Advances format as per the templates provided. The following categories of papers are accepted:

  • Original article: Max. 8 pages; Abstract (200 words); keywords (max. 5), references (max. 50); tables (max. 6) and figures (max. 6);
  • Application Note: for openly accessible software systems and their use. Max.4 pages; Abstract (200 words); keywords (max. 5), references (max. 15); tables and figures (max. 3);
  • Scientific data: for innovative and useful openly accessible data sets and their use. Max.4 pages; Abstract (200 words); keywords (max. 5), references (max. 10); tables and figures (max. 3);
  • Discovery Notes: for novel biomedical insights uncovered by bioinformatics. Max.6 pages; Abstract (200 words); keywords (max. 5), references (max. 10); tables and figures (max. 5).

Full Paper Submission Guidelines

Please prepare a complete paper for consideration for publication in the journal, Bioinformatics Advances.

Authors are strongly encouraged to ensure clarity, originality, scientific rigor, and adherence to ethical publication standards.

Submission Method

Please upload to EasyChair

(1) the PDF abstract and

(2) the PDF full paper (including figures, tables and references) if there are no Supplementary Files.

(3) a zip (.zip) or a gzip tarball (.tgz) archive containing the manuscript PDF and the Supplementary Files. If these files are too big, you may place them in an accessible website, github or zenodo and provide the links in your manuscript PDF.
